About Leah

After discovering an interest and passion for psychology in high school, I pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, graduating in June 2024. I am now entering my second and final year of my Master of Counselling Psychology program at Adler University. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I’ve had the privilege of working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals including psychologists, occupational therapists and speech language pathologists to support children and families. These experiences have further strengthened my commitment to working in the field of counselling and supporting my clients through therapeutic work. As a practicum student at Alongside You, I am dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment where clients feel heard, valued and respected. My goal is to support clients’ wellbeing through acompassionate approach shaped by empathy, trust, curiosity and clear communication.

When and why did Leah join Alongside You?

I joined Alongside You in September 2025 as an intern while completing my Master of Counselling Psychology program. I was drawn to Alongside You because of its commitment to serving a diverse range of client populations and its comprehensive and holistic approach to care. Additionally, the training opportunities offered by Alongside You support my ongoing development of practical tools, techniques and resources.

What would Leah be doing if she did not pursue the career path she has now?

Had I not chosen a career in counselling, I think I would explore a career in the Arts. My grandmother was a passionate artist and her love for the arts greatly influenced me from a very young age. Throughout the years, I developed an interest in creative expression through drawing, painting and photography.

How does Leah relax when she is outside of work?

I enjoy spending time outdoors on walks, attending yoga sessions, connecting with family and friends and trying out new baking recipes. I also love to travel as it provides opportunities to learn more about cultures, cuisines and lifestyles in different parts of the world.

What does Leah consider to be the most important value?

I consider integrity one of the most important values as I believe it is the foundation of honesty, responsibility and ethical practice.
