Weave With Pride – A Community Art Project
Join us in creating Weave with Pride, an interactive weaving installation celebrating the resilience, courage, and diversity of the LGBTQ2S+ community.
This community art piece will be offered after every viewing of “To Perfection” (2024), a theater performance by Shameless Hussy Productions, in collaboration with Delta Stageworks and with support from The Delta Community Foundation.
Led by our own artist Meg Neufeld, audience members are invited to contribute to a collaborative art piece using rainbow-coloured fabrics and ribbons into a large frame, symbolizing allyship with LGBTQ2S+ youth. Following the show, the artwork will then be displayed in the lobbies Delta Recreation Centres and the North Delta Centre for the Arts.
Each thread in this tapestry has its own texture, color, and pattern, telling a unique story of love, solidarity, and the fight for visibility and equality. Together, these threads create a vibrant, interconnected fabric, showing the beauty and diversity of the LGBTQ2S+ community. Our strength comes from being woven together, supporting and uplifting each other. Creative expressions like performances, art, music, storytelling, and dance offer powerful opportunities to foster inclusive and encouraging dialogue rooted in respect and empathy.
Weave your story. Weave with pride. Celebrate LGBTQ2S+ in our community!
