About Anilā

Before my doctoral training in Clinical Psychology, I spent twenty years teaching yoga, training teachers, and leading retreats — work I loved that kept me alongside people as they met the harder and softer edges of their experience. That path was reshaped by a brain injury and a recovery that unfolded slowly, invisibly, and rarely in a straight line — teaching me, from the inside, what it means to need care and not always knowing how to name and ask for it.

I believe no one is reducible to the difficulty that brings them in, and that healing involves the body as much as the mind. I know thoughtful, compassionate care has the power to change lives, so you can expect from me unhurried attention, warmth, occasional silliness, and embodied curiosity.

What would Anilā be doing if she did not pursue the career path she has now?

I think I would be running a non-profit organization for equitable healthcare to everyone or finding some way to legitimize floating down a river/on the ocean as a career.

How does Anilā relax when she is outside of work?

Sauna time with hot/cold sessions; anything in nature with the added bonus of good food and giggles; adventures with my friends and family – anything that feels like a shenanigan is a good call.
