About Sahajdeep

I’m a doctoral student in clinical psychology who is passionate about helping people better understand themselves and navigate life’s challenges with compassion and curiosity. My goal is to create a space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and respected. I believe that meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, collaboration, and authenticity.

My clinical interests include anxiety, trauma, neurodevelopmental conditions, and psychological assessment. I enjoy helping clients identify their strengths, make sense of their experiences, and develop practical strategies that support their goals. Whether I’m conducting assessments or providing therapy, I strive to meet each person where they are and tailor my approach to their unique needs.

It is a privilege to be part of someone’s journey, and I’m committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care that empowers clients to move toward the life they want to live.

When and why did Sahajdeep join Alongside You?

I joined Alongside You because I was looking for a practice that emphasizes evidence-based, collaborative, and client-centred care while providing opportunities to continue developing both my assessment and therapy skills. The integrated, multidisciplinary model and the diversity of knowledge and expertise within the team were especially appealing, as they provide valuable opportunities for consultation on complex cases and ongoing learning. I was also drawn to the opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians, receive high-quality supervision, and gain experience with comprehensive psychological assessments while beginning to develop my therapeutic practice.

What would Sahajdeep be doing if he did not pursue the career path he has now?

If I weren’t pursuing clinical psychology, I would likely be working in health research. Before graduate school, I worked on several research projects at BC Children’s Hospital focused on youth mental health, suicide prevention, concussion, and healthcare innovation. I really enjoyed collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, contributing to studies that aimed to improve care for children and adolescents, and translating research into meaningful clinical practice. I still enjoy asking questions, analyzing data, and finding ways to improve healthcare, so I think research would have been a fulfilling career had I not pursued clinical psychology.

How does Sahajdeep relax when he is outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy playing and watching basketball, spending time with family and friends, hanging out with my pets, and unwinding with video games. I also enjoy trying new restaurants and finding ways to stay active.

What does Sahajdeep consider to be the most important value?

Compassion. I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and treated with respect. I strive to bring empathy, curiosity, and authenticity into every interaction and to create a space where people feel safe to be themselves.
