About Stefanie:

Stefanie is a therapeutic dance/movement practitioner with over 15 years of experience as a registered early childhood educator and dance choreographer. She has experiences working in the non-profit, public health, and private practice sectors. It is her joy to help children and families learn the mind-body connection and support emotional regulation through an individual’s innate sense of movement. By coming alongside parents and caregivers, she supports adults by empowering them with guidance strategies catered to each child’s unique needs. Stefanie has partnered with families to support early childhood mental health, trauma, developmental differences, pregnancy loss, and postpartum care.

By discovering together what is beneath a child’s behaviour, Stefanie helps families form connections and understanding for one another. She values a collaborative and integrated approach by working with a child’s extended network of adults, including their caregivers, teachers, and health professionals. Stefanie is currently pursuing studies towards becoming a dance/movement therapist and considers it a privilege to serve your family as you dance through the early years with your children.

Stefanie is now an Advanced Counselling Intern under the supervision of Andrew Neufeld, MC RCC, as she completes her Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

What would Stefanie be doing if she did not pursue the career path she has right now?

If Stefanie was not working with children and families, she would likely still be working as a professional Hip Hop dance choreographer. Before specializing in early childhood development, she choreographed for school teams, dance studios, and modelling agencies in addition to performing locally and internationally.

How does Stefanie relax when she is outside of work?

Outside of work, Stefanie enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters. Whether it be singing made-up songs, dancing in the kitchen, or making playdough (or slime, or goop), there’s always some creative process happening in her home.
