About Richard

I have over two decades of experience creating the conditions for individuals to create meaningful change. My personal journey of healing from abandonment, early childhood trauma, addiction and the loss of a child enables me to create an understanding and supportive space for individuals to move towards a healthier future.

Professionally I have been involved in various industries including sales and marketing in the wine industry, business consulting, construction and counselling. I also spent a number of years training as a First Responder and volunteering with the Vancouver City Police. I find that this range of life experience allows me to connect with my clients on a deeper level.

How did Richard begin the journey?

I partnered with Alongside You in November of 2016 as I was seeking an office in Delta that offered a collaborative office which could grow and offer a range of services for clients.

How can Richard help you?

My clients are men and woman, fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters and teenagers. While every client comes with his or her own unique story, the common thread across clients is that most feel lost, out of control, overwhelmed, sad or broken. They come to me seeking a way through their problems so that they can feel okay, known and hopeful for a better future. I often hear from my clients that: “I am so glad I found you,” “You are different from other therapists,” “You get me”; “I now have hope.”

What is Richard like outside of work?

Richard is an avid skier (both nordic and alpine) and is now exploring alpine expeditions with his son as a new hobby. He loves spending time with his children and wife, and he loves good food and healthy living. He loves watching the Canucks, and enjoys getting out into nature and being mindful of his surroundings.
