Name It To Tame It: Mindfulness and Art For Anxious Teens

Attention parents and teens! We’re noticing an upward trend in anxiety levels among teenagers. But don’t worry, we’ve got a fun, interactive solution that can help! Studies show that diving into the world of art and practicing mindfulness can do wonders. They can boost self-confidence, develop emotional smarts, improve our capacity to handle life’s ups and downs, both mentally and physically, and sharpen communication and problem-solving skills. Plus, they provide a healthy channel for expressing ourselves.

We’re inviting you to explore art, self-discovery, and mindfulness together. In a relaxed, friendly, and supportive setting, we’ll discover how our bodies and minds react to anxiety. We’ll learn how to promote mental and emotional wellness, strengthen our inner resilience, and pick up positive coping strategies. We’ll be exploring a bunch of cool art forms like collage making, drawing, comic art, beading, alcohol ink, Sumi ink marbling, Gelli-printmaking, and more. Don’t sweat if you’re new to art, beginners are totally welcome!

Teens will also get to create their own self-care kits, and we’ll be giving you a wealth of educational resources related to creativity, mindfulness, and dealing with anxiety that you can take home, and also share with your parents (if you want to). So, let’s get creative, stay mindful, and tackle anxiety together!
