About Aelaf
I started my journey in the helping profession 15 years ago. I have worked in different organizations serving vulnerable children and families. Trauma-responsive care and strength-based approaches are mainstream in my work with clients. I have experience working with multicultural families and providing culturally sensitive services to clients.
As an immigrant woman myself, I relate to the systemic barriers marginalized communities experience, and I would like to enhance access to counseling services for vulnerable children and families. I understand the importance of safety, choice, and collaboration in working with clients, and my goal is to foster a therapeutic relationship that is welcoming and safe enough for you to be vulnerable and start your healing journey.
My approach honours the unique needs of individuals and families and I use different systemic and multicultural therapeutic approaches to help you make sense of your relationship with others, re-author your story, and re-establish your experiences in the here and now.
